You screw this lens hood directly into the 55mm filter thread of your lens. It is designed so that it causes no shading (vignetting) with classic standard focal lengths (50mm, 52mm, 57mm), yet still effectively shields against disturbing side light. An indispensable accessory to fully exploit the optical performance of your vintage lenses and to protect the glass.
